Throughout puffling season in Vestmannaeyja, it’s regular to search out child puffins scattered throughout city, hiding in crevices and corners. That is when “puffling patrol” is put to work; residents, young and old, head out into the evening armed with gloved palms holding flashlights and cardboard bins poked with holes, prepared to grab up any child puffins they arrive throughout.
