Throughout puffling season in Vestmannaeyja, it’s regular to search out child puffins scattered throughout city, hiding in crevices and corners. That is when “puffling patrol” is put to work; residents, young and old, head out into the evening armed with gloved palms holding flashlights and cardboard bins poked with holes, prepared to grab up any child puffins they arrive throughout. ccording to annual individuals, it’s pretty more likely to catch as much as ten an evening. When interviewed by the Smithsonian Journal, two sisters, Ágústa Ósk Georgsdóttir and Sunna Tórshamar Georgsdóttir, declare they often catch over 125 child puffins a season.
