The influential Scottish artist, whose actual title was Jack Revill, tragically succumbed to issues from an “unintended head harm” sustained on the island of Ibiza.
“It’s with profound sorrow that we affirm the premature passing of Jack Revill, recognized to many as Jackmaster,” reads a press release launched on Revill’s Instagram at this time. “Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of twelfth October, following issues arising from an unintended head harm.”
Rising to prominence in Glasgow, Jackmaster held residencies on BBC Radio 1 and co-founded the outstanding Numbers imprint. The report label turned a platform for pioneering digital artists like Jamie xx, Hudson Mohawke and the late SOPHIE, amongst many others.
