Austin is a hotbed for rock ‘n’ roll and Transit Method are one of many metropolis’s rising stars, their proggy tackle laborious rock and heavy metallic giving them a recognizable and enjoyable sound. Having launched their newest album, Othervoid, in February, Transit Method hold the momentum going with a canopy of “Set Me Free,” initially by laborious rock legends Candy.
It is the fiftieth anniversary of “Set Me Free” and the album it was featured on, Candy Fanny Adams. The quilt highlights the issues that make Transit Methodology stand out within the first place: twin guitars, vocal harmonies and a barely off-kilter prog vibe.
Requested why they went with “Set Me Free” and never a greater identified Candy music, Transit Method defined:
“Most individuals know Candy for ‘Ballroom Blitz’ and ‘Fox on the Run,’ however they don’t get sufficient credit score as a killer laborious rock band. After we listened to ‘Set Me Free’ as a gaggle, all the weather of a traditional Transit Method music immediately jumped out at us. That is proto-metal at its best. The dual-lead guitars and operatic vocal harmonies had been already there for the taking — all we needed to do was quicken the tempo and inject some bizarre time signatures to make it our personal.”
