Slipknot has modified fairly a bit since their 1999 self-titled debut album.Ffounding bassist Paul Grey died in 2010, founding drummer Joey Jordison died in 2021, longtime percussionist Chris Fehn left in 2019, and longtime keyboardist and samples grasp Craig “133” Jones left in 2023.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, founding percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan addressed Slipknot‘s standing in 2024 versus 1999. Clown notes that it is totally different now and that the band is not as shut as they was once.
